Andrea is a voice therapist, actor and singer. That means she is a speech language pathologist (SLP) with specialized training and over 10 years experience in the diagnosis and treatment of voice disorders. It also means that she combines her performance and medical skills to serve those with voice, speech, communication and singing problems. When her six-year-old niece, June, came to her with vocal nodules, she wished there was a book to help her navigate her voice therapy journey. So, Andrea brought Larry the Larynx to life to support June at home and with her school speech therapist. Andrea is the founder of Voice Therapy with Larry, an LLC specializing in providing creative education tools to support children in voice therapy.

Hi there, I'm Larry your Larynx! I live in your throat. With the help of your lungs and mouth, I can make your voice go "WOOOOO," "HOOOOO," and so much more. It is amazing what your voice can do when you use it with great breath support.
This is a voice therapy tool book for children with vocal nodules. It was written by a speech language pathologist specializing in voice disorders. Captain June and Larry the Larynx was carefully curated to spark curiosity and enthusiasm about one’s voice while also explaining the anatomy and physiology of the vocal mechanism in a simple way.
It introduces a rehabilitative voice exercise, known as a semi occluded vocal tract exercise, designed to strengthen and balance the intrinsic musculature of the larynx and reduce behaviors causing vocal nodules. This book is intended to be used by parents, pediatric SLPs, teachers, Ear Nose Throat physicians(ENT) and otolaryngologists who are helping kids with vocal nodules navigate their healing journey.
